Stand barefoot and use your full height. Find the row that covers it, then compare the guard dimensions.

Use your barefoot height to choose the starting row.
Pad body
Measured on the guard from the top edge of the shin pad to the ankle flex.
Foot protector
Measured on the guard from the ankle flex toward the toe edge.

Near a height boundary, start larger.
Choose the larger row when you are at the top of a height band and the longer guard still clears your kneecap. Stay smaller when the larger guard reaches the knee or extends too far over the foot.

Do they slip?
Fairtex shin guards like the SP5 and SP3 rarely slip when properly sized and tightened, thanks to strong Velcro straps, elastic under-foot/heel keepers, and non-slip linings that grip during checks or clinches in Muay Thai. The SP6 neoprene sleeve is even more secure for MMA grappling, with minimal drift noted in reviews; however, SP3 can occasionally shift on larger calves if the lower strap is short.
Which is best for a beginner?
For beginners, the Fairtex SP3 with its thicker triple-layer foam offers forgiving protection during learning checks and kicks, while the SP5 provides competition-style mobility with double-layer padding for those progressing quickly - both are lightweight and secure without overwhelming bulk. The SP6 sleeve is ideal if starting in MMA for easy transitions.

I actually sofar (trying them out before sparring tomorrow my ameture smoker) do really enjoy em... They arrived with creases and dents on both the outside and inside when I opened them straight from the box. Not satisfied on how they arrived but besides that I’m sure they’ll work great

5 stars for shipping time and product description. I’m 5”11 and currently weigh 180 lbs and these are a perfect fit. All my friends that do Muay Thai use these and were highly recommended. They’re comfortable, after wearing for about 30 mins the back of my leg for the lower strap was a little sore, so the straps could possibly use padding, other than that they’re very solid and no manufactured defects. Would recommend this company! Shipping was super fast and got here way sooner than I’d imagine. Shipped from Thailand to Utah and took less than a week! A+

They fit perfectly, my shins are 13” tall and a medium fits so well
They would get a 5 star if it wasn’t for the metal buckles. They’ll last longer but if my sparring partner kicks them it could cause more damage to their gear. Best shin guards I’ve ever had though. Overall recommended.

Super happy with these. I have had them for about 2 years. They have held up great. Not bulky like other shin guards which I like. I’m 5,8 and the medium size fit nice. They looked a little small at first but they worked out perfect.The only issue is that the metal part for the straps will rust overtime. That’s the only flaw, but would definitely buy again.

I initially got MEDIUM,,,,way too small even for my small legs. I would recommend whatever size you think you need, go up a size,,,you can always exchange them.These are pretty heavy duty; it's the only shinguards I've ever used but they seem like they will hold up over time and have provided appropriate protection during what sparring I have done thus far.

Extremely happy about the produce, one thing I didn’t like is that you have to size up if you’re 5’9 to the 5”10 measurements and above. Other than that, the shin guards are well worth it with its quality and stability.
Was a gift and my son says perfect
Second time with this brand. I like them because the provide good protection but aren’t too bulky. I wish the Velcro was a little bigger though. Im 5’3 so the small fits perfect lengthwise but could use more width for those of us with bigger calves.
