Size guide
Choose your glove weight
Fairtex BGV21 'Legacy' Muay Thai Gloves
1Decide the job
Start with your gym's rule
Glove ounces describe weight and padding. They do not measure your hand.
Ask your coach
Confirm the required glove weight for sparring or competition.
Choose the training use
Bag, pad, all-purpose and sparring work use different padding levels.
Check hand fit separately
Ounces do not tell you whether the hand pocket fits your fingers, palm and wraps.
After choosing the ounce, test the hand compartment with the wraps you use in training.
2Find your row
Choose the glove weight
Ounces choose padding weight and training use. They do not measure your hand.
US unit: ounces
| Ounce | Best starting use | Before you buy |
|---|---|---|
| All-purpose training | Partner drills only when your gym approves | |
| Common sparring starting point | Gym rule still decides |
3Confirm your choice
Coach and gym rules decide the ounce.
Use the required ounce for the work. If the wrapped hand does not close naturally, change glove model instead of dropping the required padding.
4Use this size
Apply it to the product
Select a row above. Your current color stays selected.
When it arrives
Confirm the fit before training
Put on the wraps you train in and close a complete fist inside the glove.
- Full fist closes with wraps on
- Fingertips are not crushed or folded
- Thumb sits naturally without pressure
- Wrist closure overlaps securely without cutting circulation
If any check fails, do not train in the gear. Start an exchange while it is still returnable.
- Out of stock

Worth every penny. These will last me a while and when they’re done it’s Fairtex all over again. I’m usually a size large so they fit perfectly and comfortably.
I love these gloves. Not only do they look fantastic and open up way more than boxing gloves, but they are very light as well. I occasionally compete in tech-sparring competitions that require 16oz gloves and I feel much more comfortable using this pair than other bulkier 16oz gloves.
Everything they say about these gloves are true. I’ll be buying more.
That's great to hear, Bobby! Thank you for your review
Very good very comfy
I love my gloves. Love the color and the real leather.
Good gloves. Nice quality. Not very tight.
Muy buenos
Exactly what I needed and great quality
These gloves fit well. The leather feels like it's quality material, and I expect them to last for years to come
I bought the 16oz for sparring. It feels great, but its a little bit stiff and i dont think itd be fun to take a hit from this
Amazing gloves, love everything about them one small complaint the dye bleeds out of these gloves as you sweat …if you have an opponent with white gloves, it will look like there is blood on their gloves or on a white shirt (not a big deal) other than the dye bleeding out of the gloves they are excellent
Very well put together as to be expected from Fairtex. Excellent product and service!
I use these for MMA training they are great gloves for class and sparring. Will be buying more when these wear out. Great quality
Been using these for a few months now, although these are not as bulky as other 16 oz gloves they do seem to offer the same padding where it matters. The leather is high quality although the color finish will fade a bit. I recommend treating with leather gel every couple of weeks to keep it hydrated.
Excellent product and service!!!!
