Flat waistband
Measure straight across the relaxed waistband from edge to edge.
Outseam
Measure from the top of the waistband to the bottom hem.
Flat leg opening
Measure one opening from the inner edge to the outer edge.
Side slit
Measure the open split from the hem to the top of the slit.
Compare garment to garment. Your jeans size is not a flat elastic waistband measurement.
