The BJJ Belt represents more than just your rank in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu - it represents hours on the mat, blood, sweat and tears, the journey your have been on since the first time you stepped on to the mat. The BJJ rank belt from Tatami Fightwear is built to the highest standards.
4cm wide and 0.5 cm thick
PLEASE NOTE: Buy the same size BJJ belt as your BJJ Gi size
This Tatami belt strikes me as a true black, at least so far as color goes--that is, it is not the brownish-black that I've found other brands to advance as "black-belt" material. More than this, with its color set up in vinegar-water prior to washing, the belt seems to me to be one that will retain its color--at least more or less--over the long term. Also, although I haven't had the chance to practice with it yet and so can't say from firsthand experience, I understand from a fellow owner that the belt is thick enough to come off easily in the course of grappling, should that prove most expedient (in terms of movement)--so that's pretty good too. In short, gIven all of this, overall--at least at first blush--I would give the belt a five-star rating. (The caveat: I'll let you know if I change my mind.)
Feels true to size
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
