Mizuno started making Judo Gis in the 1960s. In 1984, four members of the Japanese Judo Team wore Mizuno Gis during Olympic competition. Since 1997, Mizuno has been the official supplier of gis to the Japanese Judo Federation, and they also supply the Brazilian National Team. Even today, Mizuno continues to lead the way for innovation in Judo Gis, combining new theories with scientific tools and research. Mizuno Judo Gis originated from Japanese craftsmanship and are created with great care. They are worn by world-class athletes around the world, including Kayla Harrison, the first athlete in the history of American Judo to win a gold medal at the Olympics.
