It was one of the best fights in history, between two fighters that had the best rivalry boxing has ever seen. 1975, the Philippines. Muhammad Ali vs. Joe Frazier. “The Thrilla in Manila.” Roots of Fight has created a new shirt to memorialize the night that two of the all-time greats did battle for a third time. It’s the Roots of Fight Joe Frazier Thrilla in Manila Shirt.
The Roots of Fight Joe Frazier Thrilla in Manila Shirt is a blue, vintage dyed & washed tee with specialty crackle prints and event badge on left sleeve. The event badge really makes this shirt. It looks like the program from that night, and it’s one of the cooler style points we’ve seen on new shirts this year.
The shirt documents nearly everything about the fight. The date, location, the fighters, and of course, the “Thrilla in Manila” title. Just click the link or any of the photos to buy yours now.
Muhammad Ali ended up winning the “Thrilla in Manilla” after Frazier’s trainer, the legendary Eddie Futch, stopped the fight in between rounds 14 and 15. Both of Frazier’s eyes were nearly swollen shut, and Futch decided against Frazier battling Ali for one more round. It remains one of the greatest fights of all-time. Here’s video of the full fight:
