I can't speak for the headgear since I don't know what brand you purchased, but these gloves are designed for sparring/training, so you should be fine. They are well-padded and comfortable after the initial break-in period.

I can't speak for the headgear you are getting because I don't know what it is, but these are considered training/sparring gloves. They are light-weight and have extra padding. They will have a break-in period when you first get them.

You just have to hang in there for awhile; after 3 or 4 good sessions, they should start to feel more comfortable and less stiff. Remember, the reason they're made to be stiff is to provide the best protection to your hands!

The gloves will have a very slight variation in size based on the weight. Typically you will want to base the weight of the gloves on how you are using them.
