Actually, I bought this gi for my wife. She did not want a heavy gi but something lighter weight. I also want something that was quality for her and would last.
I got her the black version which looks very sharp! She is 5'5" and the A1 fits perfect for her!
I love the Tatami brand. It's less expensive for the same high quality as more name brands (Koral, Atama). I bought the Tatami Estilo gi for myself and not only did I get a lot of compliments, it feels very nice.
I would say you could use this gi for both practice and competition.

I wish this gi fit me. It is a great quality, sturdy and feels like it will last a while. It just fits too tight. I am 6'1, 170 pounds, so according to the chart I ordered A3. The fit was very tight around my back and my armpits to the point it was uncomfortable and cutting into my upper lats.
Comments about Tatami Zero G V2 Superlight BJJ Gi:
I ordered an A2, here are my vitals: - 5'9.5" - 180lbs. - 33" waist - 32" inseam, possibly 34" depending on manufacturer.
I read several reviews about this gi, my one worry was that reviewers were saying the pants would shrink 7% after the first wash. What I have to say to the reviewers is read the care guide on Tatami's website and don't wash this gi in hot water. Tatami specifically states to wash it in water no warmer than 80 degrees farenheit. I have washed this gi on warm 5 times now and air dryed it. I have experienced no shrinkage and the fit for my frame is unbeatable. Rolling in this gi is wonderful. The construction is amazing. Just look at the detail that they went into putting the patching on the shoulders. Double stitched seams, the lines are clean and solid. I am the first at my school to wear a Tatami and I am getting complements daily on the design and coloring. I prefer a lighter gi, and this one fits the bill perfectly in that department also. Overall, I have no complaints. In fact I freaking love this gi. I will be buying 2-3 more for training and competition.
Comments about Tatami Zero G V2 Superlight BJJ Gi:
This Gi is super lightweight and very comfortable. For what it's worth, it also is one of the better looking Gi's I've seen and owned. In my BJJ program, most of the class had stopped me to ask where I had purchased it!
Much lighter than the other Tami gi that's available on this site, my good friend who's in the same program bought the other version and it's much heavier, although I believe it comes with more rash protection.

Comments about Tatami Zero G V2 Superlight BJJ Gi:
This Gi is quite baggy, so I would go by height in the sizing chart as the length of pants and sleeves are only necessary due to the extra room. I read a review that it also shrinks so I bought the size up.
Straight away when I saw it I loved it, great look, reminds me of my Judo Gi. It was very lightweight considering the size and felt comfortable. As soon as I started to roll the heat hit me. So as a word of warning, make sure you warmup in the gi first to get accustomed to the heat. Apart from that, this is a great gi all round.
You can view the appropriate size chart at http://production.web.mmawarehouse.demandware.net/on/demandware.store/Sites-MMA-Warehouse-Site/default/Product-Show?pid=tat-1011. It takes into account height and weight.

Q:
I'm 5'11 and weigh about 255-260. What size would fit me? also would it be a little long with this size?
Since a Gi will shrink a little after the first wash, you should find that the A2 size will be best. For extra instructions or advice with washing, please contact one of our customer service reps at help@mmawarehouse.com.

Q:
I'm 5'11 and 235 lbs. I was wondering if the A5 would be the right fit for me? I also have a wide chest and broad shoulders, something I'm weary of.
According to the size chart an A5 size may be too long for your height. Even with broad shoulders and wide chest, an A4 may be prove to be the optimal overall fit.
Please feel free to contact customer service at help@mmawarehouse.com to speak with one of our terrific representatives if you still have concerns about sizing.

Q:
I am 5"10 and 185 lbs. now I have look at the size chart and I should order an A3 but as I have tried on other gis I know some brands a3 run big with little to no shrinkage. Would I be sake buying an a3 and shrink to fit or an A2
I would go with the A2 since you are right in the middle of that at your weight and height. There will be little to no shrinkage as long as you follow the washing instructions and wash in cool water only.

Q:
My height is 5'3 and i weigh 175, what size should i get for my gi?
At 132 pounds, you may be a good fit for A1. However, depending on how tall you are, A2 size may be better, though it will be a loose fit. Please look at the size chart on the product's page to compare your weight/size to the proper Gi size. Every size of this Gi is designed with quality construction.
