This is an excellent gi--as good as any at our gym. The instructor has some fancy ones with lining and embroidery, but they're not any better-constructed, are hotter to wear, take longer to dry, and are more expensive to buy. The only things wrong with it are universal to BJJ gis--the pants aren't made of the same fabric as the jacket (fine, really), and for someone with the Vetruvian Man's proportions (equal height and wingspan), the pants will seem a little short and the sleeves seem a little long. I'd recommend ordering it by pants length, then shrinking the jacket. I'm nearly 6' 7", and the A5 fits fine (the sleeves are a trifle long, but will shrink).
The other thing is purely visual: Tatami seems to use only one type of patch--it's black, red, and white. So it only half-matches a black or white gi. If they wanted to go the extra mile, the patches should be white and red or black and red (or blue and red, where appropriate). But I didn't buy it for the fashion--I'll just have the wife pick the stitches out and take the patches off.
I'd give this 4.5 stars if I could.

I recently bought this gi. It looks very good. Unfortunatly though as soon as i put it on there was a problem. the way the seem is made in arm pit it scratches alot. was very stiff figured cause it was new it has been washed multiple times now hung to dry and is still very stiff.the shoulders ride up all the time as soon as i put it on. all this being said it may be cause i bought the wrong size. i got the A2 which according to chart should have been perfect for my 5'8" 200 lbs frame think its my chest size that is causing the problem as i have a 54" chest stalky buyers may want to go one size up and bring to a place to adjust leg and sleeve length.
I got this Gi two weeks ago and I train about 20-24 hours a week. It has handled the beating my classmates and I have put it through. I do Judo and BJJ with this Gi and it has done the trick. The collar is good and sturdy, there was minimal shrinkage when washed with cold and air dried, and color seems to be sticking through the washes. My only concern was there seemed to be a lot of loose threading on the stitching but after some strategic snipping it wasn't really a problem.

Fit like a dream and I'm scared to machine dry it and ruin that, so it is a bit stiff. Great fabric and design, though. For a first gi purchase, I'm more than happy.
This is my first BJJ gi so take the following for what you will.
I decided to purchase a middle of the line gi instead of one of the cheaper versions so that I wouldn't need to replace in a year or two. I'm quite glad of the decision. This gi is extremely durable. The collar is thick which is nice. The gi material is thick and while it feels a little restrictive at first, after warming up, you hardly notice it at all. The pants fit well and are a little long for me at this point (I have about a 28-29" inseam and ordered an A1). I've washed the gi about 6 times in cold water and have not seen any shrinking. I've always hung dried so I didn't expect too much shrinking. All in all, I'd recommend to anyone looking to purchase the gi.
I use my Tatami BJJ Gi about 8 times a week and so far I have not been disapointed. This Gi fits me perfectly and is comfortable to wear. I recomend it to anyone who trains BJJ.
