Comfort, performance and piece of mind

These shorts are phenomenal. They fit perfectly and doesn't ride up when moving around. I really like the cup pocket design and the cup stays put during movement.

Don't like the new "core" design

Having bought three pairs of Shock Doctor Power Compression Shorts, I didn't have any qualms about buying the Shock Doctor Core Compression Short, having been told it had been "renamed." However, the product has not only been "renamed," it has been redesigned as well. Badly. In a penny-pinching move, Shock Doctor has dispensed with the velcro closure on the cup pocket. Whether it is solely a result of that, or whether they also redesigned the cut of the compression shorts, the upshot is that: 1) the cup doesn't sit as comfortable as it used to; and, 2) the cup moves around during use.
I won't be buying this product again. If I can't get any of the old Shock Doctor Power Compression Shorts, I will switch to another maker.

This is my first cup and i am using it exclusively for grappling so far, and no problems. Took a few classes to get used to, but i'm sure that's the case for any cup. Can't argue with the protection - did a whole class on back control with a young lady as my training partner who let's say didn't appreciate why she might need to be careful putting her hooks in! Took several hard heels to the groin and was VERY glad i invested in this cup...

Does exactly what it's meant to do. The cup could be a little more comfortable, but since when are cups really comfortable at all? Great product that I would recommend to anyone in the martial arts world.
