Yes, as long as the 7-8 year old's hands are not abnormally small. Along with wrapping his or her hands with boxing wraps, the fit should be just fine.

These would be big on a 5 year old, but that would depend on how big their hands were. The cuff width on these gloves is 4.5" and they are 11" in length.
