I bought these as my first Pair ever. Maybe a little high end and over board for training shin guards but I love them. They do the job and do it well.
I've only had these for a few weeks now but I'm not seeing any down side to them yet

Sizing on these shinguards is based from the measurement around the calf, at the largest place. Under 14", the recommend size would be s/m. 14 to 15", the recommend size would be L/XL. Over 15", the recommend size would be 2XL. You would want either the L/XL or the 2XL.Q:

Hi! I'm thinking of buying hayabusa kanpeki elite 2.0 striking shin guards. I'm just conflicted as I read about the grappling shin guards sock system, and how it is such a solid system that it really does keep the guard in place. My question is: Should I just get the grappling shin guards since they are also for striking and have the added benefit of the really great system of holding the guards in place or should I get the dedicated striking shin guards? In addition, I measured my calf in the widest point and I measure 15.5"-16" and 13"-13.5" midpoint from just below the kneecap to the ankle bone. I am 5'8" and weight about 180lbs.
