This is the best set of training gloves I've ever owned; the open palm leaves the outside edge of the hand available for striking, while the double wrap arrangement still supports the wrist without uncomfortable constriction. With or without tape, they still conform well to the hand shape. They're designed for sport MMA, but traditional martial artists (myself included) can get a lot of miles out of them.
